Mental Disorder: bromism

This disorder with neurological and dermatological, as well aspsychiatric manifestations was more common before the manufacture of "bromide" patent medications such as Miles Nervine and Bromo Seltzer was discontinued. The disorder results from excessive, usually chronic, consumption of bromidesubstances. Psychiatric symptoms can include confusion, psychosis, cognitive impairment, slowing of movement, affective lability and Depressed Mood. Bromism could be classified as Intoxication or other Substance Induced Disorder.
